LATEST UPDATE ON RESTRICTION OF ENTRY TO MALAYSIA FOR FOREIGN KNOWLEDGE WORKER (FKW)

21 September 2020

Dear Valued Clients,

Greetings from eXpats Service Centre!

Pursuant to our announcement dated 9th September 2020, the Government of Malaysia has recently decided to allow Foreign Knowledge Workers (FKWs) and their dependents, including foreign maids who are holding a valid long-term pass and/or has obtained pass approval to enter Malaysia. They will be required to apply for Entry Permission or Approval to Exit and Return to Malaysia via MYEntry system at https://myentry.myxpats.com.my/app/

Please note that this is applicable to:

  1. All Employment Pass categories (EPI, II and III)
  2. Dependents to FKWs
  3. Long Term Social Visit Pass holder to FKWs
  4. Foreign maids to FKWs

However, approval is not required for those who wish to exit Malaysia and will not return to Malaysia during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

The approval letter that has been granted by the Immigration Department of Malaysia before 7th September 2020 is still valid within 60 days from the issuance date, for the purpose to enter Malaysia and to exit & return to Malaysia.

For further detail, kindly refer to the latest guideline on Entry Permission and Approval to Exit and Return to Malaysia at https://esd.imi.gov.my/portal/
