What is MD workforce Training?

A fully incentivised training programme to encourage workforce in Malaysia to position themselves for success in the digital tech job market by acquiring digital skills that are in high demand. Learn the skills that employers in the digital technologies industry are actively seeking to elevate your employability and earning potential!

Training Models

MD Workforce Training consists of two (2) models, namely Model 1 and Model 2 with the following criteria:

Model 1


  1. Open to individuals who are Malaysian citizens.
  2. Age from 21 - 55 years old.
  3. Maximum one (1) training per person.
  4. Currently employed, unemployed, fresh graduate, or self-employed.
  5. Meet the training prerequisites from the training providers.
  6. Eligible for 50% funding on professional certification incentive (upon passing the examination) solely applies to courses that have the option for certification under MD Workforce Training.

Model 2


  1. Open to all Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) incorporated under the Companies Act 2016 OR companies that do not contribute to Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC).
  2. Employees who are Malaysian citizens, age 21 - 55 years old.
  3. Maximum one (1) training per company, up to RM50,000.
  4. Minimum pax of five (5) per class.
  5. Meet the training prerequisites from the training providers.
  6. Eligible for 50% funding on professional certification incentive (upon passing the examination) solely applies to courses that have the option for certification under MD Workforce Training.

What are the criteria to join?

  1. Participants must not participate in other MD Workforce programmes.
  2. Participants must not be MDEC’s and/or Training Provider’s staff/board directors or employees.
  3. First-come, first-served basis as class capacity is limited.
  4. For Model 2, participants must not be government employees.
