Training Models
MD Workforce Training consists of two (2) models, namely Model 1 and Model 2 with the following criteria:
Model 1
- Open to individuals who are Malaysian citizens.
- Age from 21 - 55 years old.
- Maximum one (1) training per person.
- Currently employed, unemployed, fresh graduate, or self-employed.
- Meet the training prerequisites from the training providers.
- Eligible for 50% funding on professional certification incentive (upon passing the examination) solely applies to courses that have the option for certification under MD Workforce Training.
Model 2
- Open to all Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) incorporated under the Companies Act 2016 OR companies that do not contribute to Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC).
- Employees who are Malaysian citizens, age 21 - 55 years old.
- Maximum one (1) training per company, up to RM50,000.
- Minimum pax of five (5) per class.
- Meet the training prerequisites from the training providers.
- Eligible for 50% funding on professional certification incentive (upon passing the examination) solely applies to courses that have the option for certification under MD Workforce Training.
What are the criteria to join?
- Participants must not participate in other MD Workforce programmes.
- Participants must not be MDEC’s and/or Training Provider’s staff/board directors or employees.
- First-come, first-served basis as class capacity is limited.
- For Model 2, participants must not be government employees.

Application for Model 1 is available to all Malaysian citizens aged 21-55 years old. Application for Model 2 is only available to MSMEs/companies that do not make contributions to HRDC. (refer here for Model 1 & 2 eligibility criteria)
The training is offered at no cost. Should you opt to take the Certification exam, MDEC will cover the cost of 50% of the certification incentive (upon passing the examination).Solely applies to courses that have the option for professional certification under MD Workforce Training.
Participation in the professional certification exam is encouraged but not obligatory. MDEC will only cover 50% of the cost for the first professional certification exam for each participant upon passing the exam.
Each participant is eligible to apply for only one (1) training under this programme.
Upon successfully completing the training, a certificate of completion will be issued by the Training Provider.
If you register for the training but are unable to attend, kindly notify the Training Provider at least three (3) working days in advance. Neglecting to adhere to this requirement may have implications on the approval of your subsequent applications.
