Initiative (GTI)?

GTI is an innovative and collaborative programme that is designed to attract digital technology companies from local and foreign technology companies to test and showcase their solutions in the dynamic and tech-savvy market of Malaysia.

INCENTIVE AMOUNT

Local Owned Technology Company

Up to 70% of total project cost or up to approved amount whichever is lower.

Foreign Owned Technology Company

Up to 50% of total project cost or up to approved amount whichever is lower.

TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION PROVIDER

  • Clarity and specificity : The problem statement should be clear, specific and well-defined.
  • Relevance : The relevancy of the problem statement in addressing market, regulatory, or socio-economic challenges. Does it solve significant challenge or pain point?
  • Feasibility : The problem statement should be feasible to solve with the available resources and technology.​
  • Urgency : There is an urgent need and require immediate attention.
  • Impact : The problem statement should have a significant impact on the target industry, market, or community. Tangible benefits preferably.​

  • CRITERIA

    PROJECT CRITERIA

    The proposed challenges or projects must meet the following criteria:

      1. Must solves a significant problem and addresses a real market, regulatory or socio-economic challenges using digital technologies
      2. Disruptive and capable of disrupting current methods/technologies in use or establishes a new niche within the key sectors or industries
      3. Innovative project or solution that possesses unique selling point(s) or has first mover advantage

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

      1. Local Company
        • Incorporated in Malaysia under Companies Act 1965 or the Companies Act 2016;
        • Minimum paid up capital of at least RM50,000
        • Active and minimum of 51% equity held by Malaysian(s) as per shareholding structure in the SSM.
      2. Foreign owned
        • Incorporated in Malaysia under Companies Act 1965 or the Companies Act 2016;
        • Active and minimum issued and paid-up capital of RM500,000.
      3. In operation for at least one (1) year as of the date of submission.
      4. Director(s) and shareholder(s) of the eligible Applicant/Recipient to declare and disclose if there is any business relationship/family relationship with any of MDEC’s director or employee.
      5. The business nature of company is technology related services and/or MD status company (MD certification number).
      6. Must be MSC Malaysia status company or Malaysia Digital (MD) status company.
