DIGITAL CONTENT CREATORS CHALLENGE (DC3)

The Digital Content Creators Challenge (DC3) formerly known as Intellectual Property Creators Challenge (IPCC).

What is DC3?

Digital Content Creators Challenge (DC3) is a platform for local talents to hone their creativity and accelerate the development of the digital creative content.

It is a competition-based program designed to assist content creators to develop and produce world standard digital content as well as increasing the creation of Intellectual Property.

The winners selected from this competition will receive a prize money to develop their proposed digital creative content with the support of industry experts through a mentorship programme.

Aimed to be one of the catalysts for local talents to penetrate local and global market.

Project Categories

Digital Comic

Up to 6 months project duration

Get up to RM 25,000 prize money to deliver a completed Digital Comic/Comic Anthology (minimum 50 colored pages or minimum of 128 colored digital comic strips/webcomics).

Animation

Up to 8 months project duration

Get up to RM100,000 prize money to deliver a completed Animated Short Film, Pilot Episode or Sizzle Trailer.

Interactive Media

Up to 10 months project duration

Get up to RM100,000 prize money to deliver a completed proof of concept of the Interactive Media content delivered in devices/tools/platform.

Digital Games

Up to 10 months project duration

Get up to RM100,000 prize money to deliver a completed commercial-ready Digital Games.

Eligibility Criteria

Company

Business / Enterprise / Sole / Proprietorships / Partnerships

Limited Liability Partnerships

  • Incorporated in Malaysia for not more than Five (5) years under the Companies Act 1965 or Companies Act 2016;

  • Active and a minimum of 51% equity held by Malaysian(s);

  • Not the subject of liquidation/winding up/bankruptcy order;

  • Not a winner under any of the categories of Digital Content Creators Challenge in the preceding year; cooling period is two (2) years to re-apply; and

  • Has no going concern issue and/or not dormant.

DC3 Process Flow

Call For Subsimission

All applications must be submitted online. Kindly click at the Register Now button below to submit, no later than the respective date.

Pre Screening

Upon closing of the submission, a due diligence will be conducted on the applications received

Pitching Session

Eligible applications will be invited for a pitching session to present their project ideas to the DC3 panel of judges. All successful and unsuccessful applications will be notified on the official result through email after the pitching session.

Mentoring Session

The winners are given six (6) to ten (10) months depending on the category to complete their selected project. Within that duration, the winner are to undergo a compulsory mentorship program with selected mentors. The winner(s) and mentors will meet up on monthly basis as per the schedule provided by MDEC.

Disbursement

The claim process will be based on the progress milestone claims, which is based on completed submission and achievements of the verified deliverables by mentors. The winners will be notified once the claim has been approved.

    • Batik Girl also has had 2 screenings in the US, in Los Angeles (December 2018) and in Arizona (January 2019).
    • It was released on YouTube in Nov 2019 with over 430k views with many positive feedback on social media from over 100 countries all around the world.
    • Batik Girl was on Astro Ultra HD channel in Feb 2020 featuring a 4K version, additional BTS and director's commentary.
    • A snippet of Batik Girl was featured during the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in collaboration with Tokyo Broadcasting System.
    • The full Batik Girl short film was showcased at the Malaysian pavilion during the Dubai World Expo 2020.
