INTERNATIONAL GIRLS IN ICT DAY 2021

In conjunction of International Girls in ICT Day 2021, MDEC collaborates with Ministry of Communication and Multimedia (KKMM) to organize Hour of Code (HoC): #MYGirlsCan campaign.

International Girls in ICT Day is an annual celebration and global campaign to empower and encourage girls and young women to take up studies and careers in ICTs. It is celebrated every fourth Thursday in April. In this edition, we would like to encourage FEMALE STUDENTS of age 7 – 17 to participate in the campaign and stand a chance to win exciting prizes.

All participants will be receiving:
a. Pentaksiran Aktiviti Jasmani Sukan dan KoKurikulum (PAJSK) point at school level
b. Digital badge from #mydigitalmaker Hero initiative

DIGITAL MAKER HUBS @ SCHOOL

Digital Maker @ School initiative kick started with only 24 schools in 2017. The Cabinet Pasca Meeting, chaired by Minister of Education Malaysia on 19th July 2019 agreed to expand this initiative by having DMH in more schools nationwide.  ​Ministry of Education encourages and welcomes Industries / Organizations to come on board as (Corporate Social Responsibility – CSR) in funding Digital Maker Hubs for 153 schools.

DIGITAL MAKER HUBS @ INDUSTRY

Digital Maker Hub (DMH) is a physical space in the community to bring the school and community members – kids, educators, parents, industry experts together to encourage the activity of digital making. DMH is equipped with diverse tools, materials and learning resources which are made available for the public to embark on digital making projects.
