National Regulatory Sandbox to accelerate under unified ecosystem for future economic growth and societal innovation 

CYBERJAYA, 13 February 2026 – Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) today announced that Futurise Sdn Bhd is set to move as a subsidiary of Cyberview Sdn Bhd to MDEC. This is a strategic transition that will expedite innovation society under a unified governance structure, enabling greater coordination and impact in Malaysia’s future digital economy initiatives. 

YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, said, “This move aligns key national innovation assets under MDEC as part of a whole-of-government approach to digital advancement. By integrating Futurise’s mandate under MDEC, we create a more cohesive and powerful engine for innovation, regulatory agility, and high-impact digital initiatives.” 

He added, “Futurise will continue to lead the National Regulatory Sandbox (NRS), drive ease of doing business, and accelerate industry-led research and societal innovation, all with enhanced scalability and national coordination.” 

Under MDEC’s stewardship, Futurise will deepen its role as a strategic enabler of innovation, focusing on regulatory modernisation, policy advisory, and next-generation technologies, including artificial intelligence, in line with Malaysia’s goal to become a leading AI nation by 2030. 

The NRS will be expanded to provide a more robust, controlled environment for testing technology-driven solutions, deepening relationships with industries, whilst helping the government assess and adopt innovations that benefit the rakyat. 

Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Chief Executive Officer of MDEC, stated, “Bringing Futurise into MDEC marks a pivotal step in consolidating Malaysia’s innovation capabilities. Futurise’s expertise in regulatory sandbox management will significantly enhance our strategic initiatives and support closer collaboration with ministries and industry leaders to commercialise new technologies.”

“Futurise will continue to serve as a key policy advisory body, developing progressive regulatory frameworks to future-proof Malaysia’s digital economy and reduce barriers for innovators,” he added.
