Research from the World Economic Forum suggested that by 2022, 54% of employees worldwide would need significant reskilling and upskilling to continue to perform their roles competitively.

Digital Up is for eligible Malaysian workforce to reskill/upskill in Digital  Technology related courses and programs. There are various courses here to choose from.

WHY DIGITAL UP?

Track 1

Incentivized Training Fee

  • Open to employed Malaysian OR Gig workers aged 21-55 years old
  • Select from our available courses and benefit from the discounted fee
  • Subject to availability of courses and on a first come first served basis
  • Deadline is by 31 December 2022

Track 2

Be Trained & Claim

  • Open to employed Malaysian OR Gig workers aged 21-55 years old
  • Be trained in any of our courses listed in the directory from 1 July 2022 – 31 December 2022
  • You can get reimbursement of up to RM1,000.00 on the training fee. You are required to submit documentation for the claims
  • Subject to availability and on a first come first serve.

Eligibility

Working Malaysians aged 24-50 including Gig workers with valid SOCSO account.

Available Courses

There are more than 60 Digital Technology related courses available here.

Application

Upon application, notification will be sent (approved/rejected). Subject to eligibility and on a first come first serve basis.

Deadline

Subject to seats available. Closing date is 31st October 2022.

Frequently Asked Questions

Digital Up is a training incentive to encourage working Malaysians to reskill/upskill via digital tech courses offered in MDEC’s Digital Skills Training Directory.

Digital Up offers Malaysia’s existing workforce & Gig workers subsidized training.

For participants/trainees:

  • Malaysian citizens.
  • Age from 21 – 55 years old.
  • Currently employed or GIG worker with a valid SOCSO account.
  • Meet the selected training pre-requisites.
  • Training is not paid or claimed under MYWiT incentives or HRD levy.
  • Must not be MDEC’s staff/board directors or employees.
  • Not a current/past beneficiary of any MyDigitalWorkforce Work In Tech (MYWiT) incentive in any company.

Eligible for courses offered via Training Providers under our Digital Skills Training Directory (Work & Learn category).

If applicable, kindly refer to the details of the training fee in the table above.
For Track 1, applicants will only need to pay the remaining amount of training fee.
For Track 2, applicants will need to pay first the total amount of the training fee and can claim after completion of training (up to RM1,000.00).

No, each participant is only applicable to apply for 1 course only under the Digital Up programme.

For Track 1, the incentive will be credited to Training Providers for the deducted fee.
For Track 2, the incentive will be credited to applicants/trainees.

Yes. A certificate of completion will be provided by the training provider.

If the fee is applicable, the cost cannot be claimed under HRD Levy.

Working Malaysians or GIG workers are invited to apply HERE before 31 December 2022. The allocation is based on a first-come, first-served basis. The successful applicant will be contacted.

You will be notified by the Training Providers on the status of the application via email.

The application status will correspond within 14 working days after the completed application form is submitted.

No, the employer/company cannot submit on behalf of the individual/participant. All payments and invoices will be under the participant’s/trainee’s details.

For Track 1:

  • Identification Card copy
  • Employment Offer Letter OR latest payslip OR SOCSO number (for Gig workers)

For Track 2:

  • Identification Card copy
  • Latest payslip OR SOCSO number (for Gig workers)
  • Latest Bank Statement
  • Receipt of payment
  • Certificate of completion

Track 1: Training must be completed between August 2022 to November 2022.
Track 2: Training must be completed between July 2022 to November 2022.

The deadline for Digital Up application Track 1 and Track 2 is from now till 31 December 2022.
