Ganesh Kumar Bangah is the Non-Executive Chairman of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), bringing proven private sector technology leadership and public-private ecosystem experience to Malaysia’s national digital economy agency.

Hailing from Johor Bahru, Ganesh has extensive experience in building technology companies, scaling digital platforms and working across Malaysia’s technology ecosystem, including with entrepreneurs, SMEs and industry stakeholders. His background supports MDEC’s role as a strategic bridge between government and industry as Malaysia advances digital economy execution towards AI Nation 2030.

Ganesh has been an MDEC Board Member since February 2025 and is also a Board Member of Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet). He previously served as Chairman of the National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) and was a Board Member of the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC).

Regarded as one of Malaysia’s most established technology entrepreneurs, Ganesh has built and scaled digital platforms across online payments, e-commerce, social commerce and the creator economy, among others. 

While in his 20s, he founded MOL Global Inc., which grew into one of Southeast Asia’s leading online payment gateways. He later built and invested across digital ecosystems spanning e-commerce, social commerce, influencer marketing and digital growth, further contributing to Malaysia’s digital economy ambitions. 

His expertise and experience continue to support MDEC’s mission to drive a more inclusive, competitive and innovation-led digital economy for Malaysia.
