What is Biz Up?
MDEC aims to cultivate a competitive domestic cloud and data centre industry by encouraging Malaysian companies to achieve certification under the internationally recognised ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management Systems.
ISO/IEC 27001 serves as the global standard for information security management systems (ISMS), outlining the essential requirements an ISMS must fulfil. This standard offers guidance to companies of all sizes and across various sectors in establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually enhancing their information security management systems.

Beneficiaries
Companies adopting ISO/IEC 27001's holistic approach embed information security in organisational processes, information systems, and management controls.
MDEC seeks qualified companies in Data Centres, Security Operation Centres (SOCs), Managed Service Providers, and Business Recovery Management.
Eligibility Criteria
- Incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act 1965 or the Companies Act 2016;
- Minimum of 51% equity held by Malaysian(s).
- Must be either Data Centre, Security Operation Centre (SOC), Managed Service Provider or Business Recovery Management.
- Minimum operational duration of one (1) year.
- New ISMS certification ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
Application Process
Step 1
Company register interest.
Step 2
MDEC conducts a screening process for a Qualified Company, which is then assigned to a Consultant Provider.
Step 3
Consultant Provider assesses/evaluates the Company's ISMS and notifies approved company of the accompanying terms for agreement.
Step 4
Consultant Provider provides ISO/IEC 27001:2022 ISMS consultation to the Company.
Step 5
The Certification Body (CB) conducts an audit of the company for the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 ISMS Certificate.
