MDEC Embarks on ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) Certification

Dear Esteemed Stakeholders,

Integrity and accountability form the foundation of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation Sdn Bhd's ("MDEC") values and business conduct. As part of our unwavering commitment to uphold the highest standards of integrity, business ethics, and accountability in all aspects of our monetary and non-monetary business dealings and operations, we are pleased to announce that MDEC is in the process of obtaining the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System ("ABMS") certification.

ABMS is an internationally recognised standard designed to help organisations, including MDEC, to prevent, detect, and respond to any form of bribery, corruption, malpractices, and abuse of power. It serves as a key measure for maintaining transparency and accountability, as well as strengthening stakeholders' trust across the digital economy sector. It also ensures compliance with the applicable anti-bribery laws relevant to MDEC's business activities and operations.

The implementation of ABMS further reinforces MDEC's alignment with Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission ("MACC") Act 2009, by demonstrating adherence to the Guidelines on Adequate Procedures ("GAP") issued by the Prime Minister's Department, Government of Malaysia in 2018, which serve as a defence against corporate liability exposures under the MACC Act 2009.

Through this initiative, MDEC reaffirms its role as a responsible corporate entity, committing to fostering a clean and transparent digital economy ecosystem in Malaysia. We value your continued support as we move forward with this important initiative.
