1. Is my company eligible to be a Sharing Economy Platform Partner?
Sharing Economy platforms/ providers/ operators in all economic sectors having valid business entity registered with SSM and with permanent establishment (business entity) in Malaysia are encouraged to apply by complying to the following mandatory criteria:
- A registered legal entity with ROC Malaysia and incorporated under the Companies Act, 2016.
- Carry out one or more types of *Sharing Economy promoted by MDEC.
- Types of Sharing Economy promoted by MDEC refers to activities in relation to any of the following:
- Assets – based services (temporary access to owned physical assets)
- Intangible (skills, time) (collaborate or exchange less-tangible assets)
- Types of Sharing Economy promoted by MDEC refers to activities in relation to any of the following:
- Core business is part of one or more Sharing Economy model that will benefit the Malaysian community as follows:
- Digital Micro Tasks: Simple online tasks that can be completed digitally within minutes and do not require prior experience or a specific skill to perform.
- Digitally Enabled Tasks: On-demand physical tasks/ location-based services (LBS) that are distributed online but require on-site presence and may require specific skills.
- Digital Work: Professional work, mostly domain-specific that is performed digitally and requires specific skills and qualifications. Commonly offered through assessment or bidding.
