THE PRODUCTION GRANT

This grant is limited to projects in production stages, i.e., creating, assembling, aggregating, producing or generating content. Examples of production activities include film shooting, game level development, content development, editing, voice over and other activities as per acceptable industry practice.

Eligibility Criteria

1.

The applicant is a company incorporated in Malaysia.

2.

The applicant has an issued and paid up share capital of at least RM50,000.00

3.

More than Fifty Per Cent (50%) of the legal and beneficial ownership of the applicant is vested in Malaysian(s).

4.

The applicant is not the subject of a winding up order and has no going concern and if the applicant has going concern issue (as reported in the latest audited account), the applicant has to obtain undertaking letter and/written statement by the company’s shareholder and/or director to financially undertake and liability to the company.

5.

Where the applicant has received grant from MDEC and/or any other ministries or agencies under the Government of Malaysia of any amount exceeding RM150,000.00 (in a single case):

-

All such grants have been fully utilised; and

-

All projects thereunder have been completed i.e. all milestones have been delivered to the satisfaction of the provider of such funding as duly acknowledged and certified by the provider of such grants

6.

Where the applicant has received grant from MDEC/ and or any other ministries or agencies under the Government of Malaysia, the applicant shall provide success story and/or proven revenue generated from the project which was funded (not applicable for past development grant recipients)

7.

The applicant fulfils at least One (1) of the following:

-

The applicant has a minimum of Two (2) years track record in the conceptual development of creative works whether as an outsourced service provider or in creation of original works; and/or

-

Where the applicant has been in operation for less than Two (2) years, the Applicant must have a minimum of Two (2) fulltime staff [whereby at least One (1) of the staff has at least Two (2) years track record of delivering projects (whether as an outsourced service provider or in the creation of original works)] in its employment.

Allowable project duration

Up to 24 months.

Example of Activities

  • Production - Animation, VFX, film shooting, game level development, content development, interactive development, simulator;
  • Post-production - editing, music scoring, audio, sound effect, voice over, film transfer, compositing; and/or
  • Any other activities which constitute "production" according to acceptable industry practice.
