What is Digital Creative Content Creator Studio?

Digital Creative Content (DCC) Creator Studio is a partnership programme between MDEC and  global/local studios to mutually benefit the digital creative content ecosystem, in particular the Malaysian talent pool & Malaysian based creative studios.


This programme is to match real-world, on the job training opportunities by studios with skilled Malaysian youth as an entry point to the industry and to assist with the talent shortage experienced world-wide.

Eligibility Criteria

  • *Digital creative content studios incorporated and registered in Malaysia under:
    • Companies Act 2016
    • Registration of Business Act 1956 Perniagaan 1956
    • Limited Liability Partnership Act 2012
    • The Trades Licensing Ordinance 1948 (Sabah)
    • The Businesses, Professions and Trading Licensing Ordinance (Sarawak)

*Digital creative content studios to be from animation IP, animation services, games development, games development services as the preferred partner

 

  • Not be the subject of a liquidation/winding up/ dormant
  • Not a public-sector employer, federal & states statutory body and local authority
  • Offering Live Project training in relation to digital creative content for a minimum of three (3) months up to a maximum of six (6) months
  • Company director / shareholder / partner / senior management to declare and disclose if there is any close  business relationship/close family relationship with any of MDEC’s director or employee
  • Fresh graduates, unemployed & retrenched individual – a Malaysian citizen; above 18 year-old and not more than 30 year-old during application
  • Must not be a close family member [spouse, parent, child (including adopted child or step- child),  brother or sister, spouse of child, brother or sister] of a director/shareholder/top management of the  hiring studio
  • Not a current beneficiary of any MyDigitalWorkforce Work In Tech (MYWIT) incentive in any company
  • Not part of PenjanaKerjaya 2.0 and Penjana KPT- CAP programmes

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Each creative studio has an interest and shared responsibility with MDEC in executing internship and on-the-job skilling programmes. Both parties may have shared contribution (in cash and/or in-kind) and there is financial payment between both parties.​

A three (3) to six (6) months Live Project training programmes.​ The outcome is to produce highly qualified talents in the field of digital  creative content and increase the attractiveness of  Malaysia for foreign direct investment (FDI) and studio expansion.

Live Project training related to the development of digital creative content

  • MDEC to co-funding commitment to a maximum assistance of RM1,200.00 monthly stipend per person (maximum six months)
  • Industry Partner: The partner needs to commit a minimum RM1,500.00 monthly stipend per person

Project that is currently being worked on by the Partner in the scope of digital creative content

Malaysian fresh graduates/retrenched individuals/unemployed* who are above 18 year-old and not more than the age of 30 year-old for the roles related to the development of digital creative content (has no permanent employment for a minimum of 2 months)

This programme is designed to be a bridge between IHL and studios, hence the age group is meant to cater for IHL graduates, youth, newer talents in the workforce​

No. This programme is only applicable to Malaysian candidates

A Partner can recruit a minimum of 5 pax and maximum of 20 pax to participate in DCC Creator Studio programme​

A Partner must commit a minimum monthly allowance of RM1,500.00/trainee with MDEC to incentivise RM1,200.00/trainee of training allowance

The training allowance incentive will be reimbursed on milestone basis of three (3) months each

The Partner is given two (2) months from the programme completion period to submit their final claim and training closure report
